Accessibility

Sue The Boy is committed to making suetheboy.com accessible to all customers, including those with disabilities. We are actively working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.

This page outlines our current accessibility status, known issues we are working to resolve, and how to contact us if you need assistance.

Our commitment

We believe everyone should be able to browse, discover, and purchase our jewellery regardless of how they access the web. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-time fix. We regularly audit our site and prioritise improvements as part of our normal development cycle.

Technical standard

We are working toward compliance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the standard most commonly referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and equivalent legislation in Australia and internationally. Our efforts include:

  • Ensuring all images have meaningful alternative text
  • Providing proper labels for all form inputs
  • Supporting keyboard-only navigation throughout the site
  • Maintaining sufficient colour contrast for text and interface elements
  • Providing accessible size guides and product information in HTML format
  • Ensuring screen readers can correctly interpret product variant selectors

Known issues

We are transparent about issues we are aware of and actively working to resolve. The following are known at the time of this page's last update:

In progress Some homepage banner and lifestyle images carry empty alternative text. We are reviewing each image and adding descriptive text or marking decorative images appropriately.
In progress The back-in-stock notification email field on sold-out product pages is missing a programmatic label. We are working with our app provider to resolve this.
In progress The homepage is missing a top-level heading (H1) for screen reader navigation. We are addressing this at the theme level.
Resolved Newsletter and popup email signup forms previously lacked accessible labels. These have been corrected.
Resolved Ring size guide was previously a PDF only. It has been replaced with a fully accessible HTML page with labelled inputs, table headers, and keyboard navigation.

If you experience any difficulty accessing any part of our website, or if you need product information, sizing assistance, or order support in an alternative format, please contact us directly. We will do our best to assist you promptly.

Third-party content

Our website uses third-party services including Shopify (our store platform), Klaviyo (email marketing), and other embedded tools. While we endeavour to select accessible third-party providers, we cannot guarantee full accessibility of content outside our direct control. If you encounter an issue with a third-party element, please let us know and we will raise it with the relevant provider.
